Our Activities and Services

There are also many different ways our community comes together as a community. Some are educational in orientation, and some are more social, but all enrich our lives together.

Friends of St. George

The Fellowship Coffee Hour Ministry is designed for the purpose of camaraderie after the Divine Liturgy. Christ Himself, who unites us, is the center of our Fellowship Hour – not the refreshments! Simplicity is the rule.

Greek Dance Group

The Greek Dance Group offers children ages 5 to 18 the opportunity to learn traditional Greek dances while making friends and memories that will last a lifetime. They also perform at our annual GLENDI Greek Festival, and at other times of the year at special events.

Greek School

Our Greek School’s mission is to foster a foundation in the Greek language, heritage, culture, and Greek Orthodox faith through the combined efforts of the teachers, parents, students, and community. Classes are offered for children (Pre-K to 6), as well as adults.

Library

The St. George library contains a variety of books and other multimedia resources on the Faith for both children and adults, and we are continually adding to its collection. Located on the lower level of the Center, it is a warm inviting space for personal study and reading. Books can also be taken out of the library on loan. We operate on the honor system, so please return library materials when finished.

Nature Ministry

The Nature Ministry meets once a month at various trails and locations in Western MA. Our walks are conducted in conjunction with prayer and discussions of the faith, and are appropriate for people of all fitness levels.

Over 60s Club

Our senior citizens meet once a week to promote a sense of community among our members through luncheons, various activities, trips, events, and sharing knowledge.

Reading & Discussion Book Seminar

The St. George Reading & Discussion Book Seminar meets weekly over Zoom to discuss the Orthodox Faith and how dogmas relate to the world today. Led by Presbytera Maria, we read a variety of books that cover many topics including societal challenges, saints, and more!

Recipe Group

The St. George Recipe Group’s focus is on hospitality—philoxenia, or “friend of the stranger.” Offering hospitality is at the root of our Orthodox faith: it is love. We always have a wonderful time sharing recipes with one and all during our monthly meetings held via Zoom.
