Job Description                                                

This position encompasses responsibilities for maintaining the church's facilities, including routine cleaning, repairs, and upkeep of both the interior and exterior, as well as event setup and safety.

General Responsibilities

Facility Maintenance
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and window cleaning. 
  • Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of church facilities, including restrooms, classrooms, and common areas. 
  • Ensure that all areas are presentable and ready for use. 
  • Assist with setting up and taking down equipment for events and activities. 
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, replacing filters, and lubricating equipment. 
  • Troubleshoot and minor repair of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. 
  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner and prioritize tasks effectively. 
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and repairs performed. 
  • Perform preventive maintenance of building, equipment, and grounds. 
Grounds Maintenance
  • Maintain exterior parameter of facilities clean from debris
  • Remove snow and ice during winter months from walk ways and ramps 
Event Support
  • Assist with setting up and taking down furniture and equipment for events and activities. 
  • Ensure that facilities are in a safe operating condition.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications 

  • Education and Experience and skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Experience in facility or grounds maintenance preferred. 
  • Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems is preferred. 
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools.
  • Physical ability to lift 60 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks (i.e., moving furniture).
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, and kneel for extended periods. 
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs. 
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds. 
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.

Probationary Period

This position is subject to a six (6) month probationary period from the start date of employment.
